The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at 2pm.

The route will begin at 5th & Main, proceed south to 13th Street, turn east onto Phillips, and head north, concluding at 5th & Phillips. Also at 2pm there will be the St. Patty’s Day 1-mile road race, which will begin at 17th & Phillips and run straight north to 5th & Phillips, immediately preceding the parade. The SF Police Department will control traffic in and out of the area during this time.

The "painting of the shamrock" ceremony will take place between 11:30-noon at 9th & Phillips. Other activities taking place downtown on Saturday include an Irish music concert at the Orpheum that evening, and “turning the Falls green” at dusk. Parade organizers encourage the public to purchase a $2 St. Patrick’s Day button. Proceeds benefit children’s charities such as the Special Olympics and the Children’s Inn. Over the years $137,000 has been raised for these organizations.
